Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering Teams significantly impact LEANPD driven new product development projects, driving for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods and striving to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control. They act as the binding element between product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface. They support Product Development in the optimization of designs and piece parts for manufacturability by realizing sample tooling/products/prototypes. They also design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standards, document all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems, support supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability, initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost and cycle time and adhere to all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements.

What your background should look like:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Participating in creating cross-business AI automation technology roadmaps to define, innovate, and implement the AI technologies that TE business units will need to be successful. Working with the business units to define and to implement the AI automation development projects.

  2. Innovate and develop the next generation AI solutions on AI machine vision, AI process optimization etc.

  3. Participating in the company-wide AI technology strategy, assisting and measuring its implementation and the results of the implementation.

  4. Continually learning the AI automation technologies and market trends. Match business strategies to seek new AI technology opportunities that may be appropriate for TE.

  5. As an AI technical expert to address and to develop and/or execute AI automation projects and strategies.

  6. Significant involvement in related AI automation opportunities allowing for the seamless transition of new products to assembly facilities.

  7. Working with intellectual property (IP) managers and legal teams to innovate and to strengthen TE IP strategies and portfolios in AI automation manufacturing technology.

Key Requirements:

  1. A Master degree in an Engineering or Technical discipline. A PhD engineering degree is strongly preferred. 5+ years operational and/or technical experiences in a technology environment/industry is also preferred.

  2. A strong leader with clearly demonstrated AI experience and a track record of AI innovating as well as AI deploying/scaling up new technologies via influence in matrix organizations. Understanding key SPAM process in TE is preferred. Experiences in chartering company-wide AI technology events with solid tangible results are strongly preferred.

  3. Proven records of collaborating with multiple manufacturing/engineering teams and BU customers to develop strategy and execute AI and related projects with multi-years roadmap for productivity and gross margin improvement.

  4. A strong technically oriented engineer with clearly demonstrated experience and a track record of AI automation innovation and solutions

  5. AI and Machine Vision programming skillsets preferred

  6. C/C++, C#, Python, HMI, GD&T, etc. coding knowledge and experience

  7. Excellent commercial and business acumen with deep experience in analyzing current technologies and capabilities on the market

  8. Ability to communicate technical ideas, vision and inspire people at every level to deliver and execute the manufacturing technology
