Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Global Operations Leader is responsible for coordinating, animating, and delivering against all global quality deliverables across all factories including China, Philippines, Malaysia, and Mexico.

The Global Operations Leader must interface with all factories to meet all Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) and Customer Return rates as measured by Total Parts Per Million (TPPM). This includes driving systemic 8D corrective actions and complete read across activities.

The Global Operations Leader must also ensure that all Safe Launches are successfully achieved at the receiving sites for any dual site New Product Introductions and/or all multi-site operational deployments.

A very important job responsibility for this position is to fully animate the global factory quality network to ensure that Digital Data Networks (DDN) Business Unit delivers against our global Business Unit metrics and strategic goals.

This position also has the responsibility to report into Corporate Quality at the TE level and participates in our Global Quality Leadership Team (QLT) with respect to reporting on and carrying out not only our Business Unit but also our Corporate level strategic objectives.

The Global Operations Quality role is also responsible for managing overall quality at the ODMs which is TE DDN’s next customer. In this capacity, the Global Operations Quality Leader must manage not only overall quality at the next higher assemble, but also key ODM relationships as well.

The Global Operations Quality Leader must partner closely with both Engineering and Sales to successfully manage these key ODM accounts to ensure that we fully understand the application from a quality perspective including DFEMA, PFEMA, and AFMEA applications, and also assist in quickly resolving problems when they occur.

The Global Operations Quality Leader is the liaison between our Digital Data Network BU and our customer so dealing with C-Suite Customers and fostering those trusting relationships is a critical success factor to this role.

This role is also expected to regularly report out to DDN’s senior leadership team on the overall health, progress, and status of the overall quality program by customer account.

Position Responsibilities

Lead a global team of quality engineers in support of all quality operations for the DDN global business unit

• Animate the global Quality network to set annual BU-level quality targets to achieve BU level quality goals and objectives such as meeting annual CoPQ and TPPM results.

• Participate in the project Kick-off Meetings, support project team development for internal requirements, customer specific requirements, Risk Priority Number (RPN) reductions, analyze SPC data, etc.

• Serve as the liaison between engineering and the plants on new product introductions to ensure robust process capability on all programs

• Document the results for specific program characteristics and ensure that internal and external requirements are met including deviations if required.

• Extensive interface with C-Suite Customers & ODMs, along with regular reporting to TE senior executive level leadership.

• Actively participate in design reviews for the assigned product, related tooling, and overall development of quality plans

• Generate and/or champion 8-Ds for problem solving, test failures, and product escapes

• Regularly lead and conduct factory audits to ensure outstanding factory quality performance.

• Team with Supplier Quality Engineering in the completion of supplier PPAP t ensure high quality

• Regularly reports to executive management on the overall performance and effectiveness of the global factory quality program

What your background should look like:

  • Qualifications:• Bachelor’s Degree with technical focus• Excellent communication skills particularly with Customer and executive senior leadership • 10+ year experience in quality, advanced quality engineering, and working in global capacity• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, forge strong internal relationships, and drive transformation globally• Outstanding collaboration skills with the ability to solve complex problems across multiple disciplines• Experienced in the use of Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 8D and other advanced statistical methods including Design of Experiments (DOE), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Process Capability (CpK) techniques. • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of departmental, company, and corporate procedures and systems, i.e., ISO9000, ISO9001, IATF16949, VDA, PPAP, FMEA, APQP gate reviews, GD&T, ISO14001.• Proven track record of being able to work on multiple programs concurrently while maintaining timely completion of defined project tasks.• Possesses strong leadership and communications skills and strong executive level presence• Ability to prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced work environment
