Nvidia Senior System Application Engineer - Autonomous Vehicles in Shanghai, China

NVIDIA has continuously reinvented itself over two decades. NVIDIA’s invention of the GPU in 1999 sparked the growth of the PC gaming market, redefined modern computer graphics, and revolutionized parallel computing. More recently, GPU deep learning ignited modern AI — the next era of computing — with the GPU acting as the brain of computers, robots, and self-driving cars that can perceive and understand the world. This is our life’s work — to amplify human imagination and intelligence.

We're on the lookout for enthusiastic Application System Software Engineers who are eager to bring NVIDIA's DRIVE software to market. As an integral part of NVIDIA's Tegra Solution Engineering team, your role is to ensure that the NDAS (NVIDIA DRIVE AV Solution) we deliver to our partners and customers meets all requirements and is fully qualified. When issues arise, your swift response in analyzing the root causes, collaborating with internal teams to devise solutions, and spearheading the implementation of these solutions is crucial. Your work will involve close collaboration with partners and customers, as well as with NVIDIA's internal teams, to oversee test planning, execution, and reporting. Moreover, you'll play a key role in enhancing and refining the overall performance of our solutions, with a focus on addressing verification and validation challenges through your strong analytical skills and innovative problem-solving abilities. We're seeking dedicated, industrious, and inventive engineers to join us in exploring the thrilling realm of autonomous driving!

What you'll be doing:

  • Conduct thorough testing and verification of NDAS for a variety of Chinese OEM partners' carlines.

  • Plan, organize, and lead test campaigns on test tracks and public roads, working in close partnership with Chinese OEM partners and NVIDIA's internal teams.

  • Intake and analyze issues or bugs reported by partners and customers, examine any abnormal vehicle behavior, utilize specialized tools to determine the root cause at the subsystem level, and report these findings to the appropriate internal expert teams.

  • Oversee the bug life cycle, collaborating with various teams to push for effective solutions.

  • Stay updated on the latest testable software releases, including SW versions, resolved issues, and any known problems.

  • Reflect on vehicle test outcomes to guide teams with improvement suggestions.

  • Keep track of the most recent product software requirements, test cases, and reports.

  • Collaborate with our global engineering teams in the US and Europe to ensure the successful deployment of solutions to our customers

    What we need to see:

  • BS, MS, or higher degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field or equivalent experience.

  • At least 5 years of gathered experience in all phases of testing including specification, implementation, execution, and documentation for autonomous driving related functions and architectures

  • A validated grasp of software testing methodologies, including but not limited to unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.

  • Hands-on experience with software debugging tools: software debuggers, analyzers, trace loggers. Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with good attention to details.

  • Proficiency in C/C++ languages

  • Excellent communicator, fluent written and verbal English.

  • Good teamwork with ability to work independently.

  • Passion to learn new hardcore technology.

  • A valid Driving license.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Experience with automotive design processes and norms (e.g. ISO 26262, ASPICE)

  • Prior experience with in-vehicle testing, simulation and metrics development of autonomous driving systems.

  • Hands-on experience resolving complex interdependent issues emanating from sensors to other embedded controllers on the vehicle.

  • Understanding of NVIDIA DRIVE platform or NVIDIA GPU hardware .
