Amazon Senior Event Operations Manager in Shanghai, China

We are hiring a Senior Event Operations Manager with a proven record and project management experience to own the project management of the annual mega events for China Global Selling. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in an exciting growing business. In this role, you will support the event marketing head to manage the highly visible mega events targeting cross-border e-commerce decision makers and broad participants in China, in order to promote Amazon business strategies to the target audience, and enhance Amazon thought-leadership in the industry. You will create project plans, develop and optimize mechanisms/processes, coordinating cross-teams and driving execution, and communicate to senior management on event status, risks, process changes and support needed. Cross-team coordination, project management and executive presentation skills are essential. The ideal candidate will leverage his/her extensive project management experience, combined with deep analytical capabilities and a keen sense of innovation, to lead highly-visible mega events from conception to completion.

Key job responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the successful delivery of annual mega events of China Global Selling.

• Establish effective event mechanisms to drive the timely event planning and execution in high-quality. Ability to identify better ways of working at scale through building new mechanisms and processes

• Identify and mitigate risks, preventing them from escalating into major issues

• Collect Seller feedback for the event plan and experience design. Deep dive the key drivers for event satisfaction, Seller engagement and adoption results. Evaluate and prioritize tasks based on the Seller needs and deep dive insights.

• Work with cross-team stakeholders and external agencies to develop event websites and other tools with a Seller-oriented mindset

• Interface directly, influence and align executives, business leaders, key stakeholders across teams to prioritize, optimize resource allocation and ensure event success.

• Develop and improve reporting across a broad range of event metrics. Regular communicate the event progress with China Global Selling leadership and multi-layer stakeholders, as well as global management and stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years’ of project or program management experience, success with the planning and delivery of large scale, complex and cross-functional projects/programs

  • Strong analytical skills - experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Strong bias for action and good at dealing with ambiguity with complex problem solving

  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship building skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Chinese; capable to clearly present ideas, plans and effectively influence senior executives and across organization

  • An ambitious self-starter with excellent follow-through skills and thrive in a fast and dynamic environment.

  • Stay abreast of the latest event tools and trends; be open to new ideas and drive innovation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in analytics tools to handle large set of qualitative and quantitative data to drive insights

  • Proactive approach to handling any challenges that might arise and ability to quickly troubleshoot any problems that should arise on the event day

  • Collaborative attitude and ability to stay calm under pressure
