About the Role

The Data Engineer role performs complex research, design, and software development assignments within a software functional area or product line, and provides direct input to project plans, schedules, and methodology in the development of cross-functional software products. This SWE performs software design — typically across multiple systems; mentors more-junior members of the team; and talks to users/customers and translates their requests into solutions.

Responsibilities

• Build and support a data catalogue with automated processes to catalogue the data

• Build automated data processing solutions to prepare, clean and on-board data into a central database and data lake with minimal manual input

• Create backend data platforms and data infrastructure to support Data Analysts and Data Scientists

• Write complex queries on top of the data design and infrastructure

• Ensure the infrastructure is easily accessible and always running smoothly

• Ensure systems meet business requirements as well as industry standards

Requirements

• Experience working in Agile teams i.e. adhering to Agile methodology & delivery

• Strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder management

• SQL and NoSQL experience (eg SQL Server, MySQL, MongoDB)

• Data modelling

• Python (or a similar programming language) experience

• ETL
