R&D/PRODUCT DVL ENGINEER II

Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams conceive original ideas for new products, introduce them into practice. They are responsible for product development, and qualification from market definition through production and release; assist in the qualification of suppliers for new products to ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services for new or improved manufacturing processes; conduct feasibility studies, testing on new and modified designs; direct and support detailed design, testing, prototype fabrication and manufacturing ramp. The R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams provide all required product documentation including, but not limited to, Solid Model, 2D/3D production drawings, product specifications, and testing requirements. They create and modify detailed drawings and drafting or conceptual models from layouts, rough sketches or notes and contribute to design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product. Typical fields of expertise include: materials, mechanics and systems, electrical, optics, chemistry, software, automation systems, packaging, testing and measurement, and manufacturing of electrical, mechanical and electronic components, products, and their integration into systems.

What your background should look like:

Responsibility:

• Responsible for test execution, test data analysis, testing report and documentation according to test standards and conditions, such as IEC 60512, EIA-364, IEC 60068-2 series, etc. Test items include electrical test (contact resistance, insulation resistance, temperature rise…), environment test (mixed flowing gas, salt spray, temperature and humidity cycling…), mechanical test (mating and unmating force, retention force, vibration and mechanical shock…).

• Monitor and report lab organizational performance against the TEOA Tools ensure that is effective and provides for continuous improvement with all relevant responsibilities.

• Maintain complex test operation as delegated tasks and programs within the organization that result in lab performance improvements, effective problem solving timely.

• Works with PDE to support and/or develop test system methodology along with data interpretation.

• Determine the ability of the product to comply with customer and contractual requirements through established reliability factors. Seeks new technologies to help efficiency and reliability of test solutions. Participate in development and maintenance of internal quality control and reliability programs.

• Provide training sessions to other colleagues when necessary.

• Works cross-functionally on project timelines, resource allocations and process tracking. Presents plans, data, and findings in a cross-functional environment in a clear and concise manner.

• Design and build test benches to develop test automation, automate test tools, generate and improve automation efficiency, implement test cases and validation criteria for different product lines.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or above, major in Mechanical, Electronic, Engineering, or related field.

• 5-year work experience in testing engineering, candidates with experience in automotive connector testing and product certification will be given preference

• Good writing and reading English; Can communicate within team via oral English

• Good knowledge of laboratory system requirement, ISO 17025

• Proficient in industry testing standards, rigorous work and has strong sense of quality.

• Experience where quick-thinking and problem solving plays a critical role.
