Hilton Manager, Engineering ( Shenzhen Base) in Shanghai, China

Position Statement/Summary

This position is responsible for providing Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing engineering support for managed and franchised development projects of Focus Service brands. The geographic region covered by this position will include Great China & Mongolia.

What will I be doing?

As the Manager of Engineering, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Assist the AD&C team and guide the incorporation of ESG (Environmental and Sustainability Governance) and Energy and Water Efficiency strategies in the project design.
  • Participate proactively in VE (Value Engineering) coordination and review to ensure project efficient and cost-effective construction practices while meeting Brand Standard requirements and best industry practices.
  • Work with Project Directors/Managers to provide review of MEP design documents forFocus Servicehotel projects for assigned areas within Great China & Mongolia.

  • Provide assistance to existing hotel owners in meeting mechanical requirements initiated by current Property Improvement Plan (PIP).

  • Review50% complete plans and 100% complete plans and specifications in detail to ensure compliance with Hiltonstandards and prototype drawings.Address concerns immediately and provide detailed written correspondence to the project director/manager explaining the non-complying issues and presenting solutions.Conduct meetings, conference calls, and webinars as needed to explain Hiltonrequirements to owner, architect, and other project team members.

  • Review construction submittals and shop drawings in detail to ensure compliance with Hiltonstandards and prototype drawings.Address concerns immediately and provide detailed written correspondence to owner, architect, and contractor explaining the non-complying issues and presenting solutions.

  • Visit projects (as needed) during construction to ensure compliance with Hiltonstandards and prototype drawings and the approved plans that were submitted.Address concerns immediately, in person, while at the site, and also provide detailed written correspondence following the site visit.

  • Review and propose revisions to standards and prototype drawings.

  • Travel as necessary to accomplish the goals for the position while managing travel expenses within company guidelines and maximizing travel efficiencies.

·Proficient skills in Microsoft office products.

·Understanding of the principles and practical application of mechanical systems.

·Ability to work independently and work with other team members as appropriate; includes the ability to recognize need for involvement of other teams/peers and capability to effectively facilitate that collaboration.

·Proficient English and Chinese verbal and written communication skills.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

·3-5 years' experience preferred in HVAC and Plumbing Design, experience of project management on site is a plus.

·Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

·Professional Engineer.

·Ability to travel as required.

·Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.

·Hospitality experience preferred, including lead design roles in new construction and renovation projects

·Experience and knowledge of sustainable design, energy efficiency, and operations principles.
