Eaton Corporation General Manager, Mobility Group China in Shanghai, China

Eaton’s Mobility Group is hiring a China General Manager in Shanghai.

What you’ll do:

Eaton is seeking a dynamic and globally minded executive who will report to the Asia Pacific President for the Mobility Group and be responsible for leading a substantial and full P&L within our China OEM and aftermarket business, as well the growth of our eMobility business. This role will have direct oversight for operations, sales performance, market development, customer management, inorganic activity, partner relationships, new product launches and leadership development. This leader will be a highly visible and critical champion in driving market integration and inorganic/organic growth, as well as advancing the business’ competitive position through efficient management of the operations.

This executive will focus on significant initiatives and opportunities to continue to drive the business forward and to ensure top line revenue growth and market profitability. This role will require a thought leader who will provide key observations, ideas and suggestions, and be an outspoken advocate in identifying both risk and opportunities for the organization. This position will be a critical executive partner to senior leadership in taking the business to the next level by ensuring growth through a variety of progressive management solutions.

This role will have a significant emphasis on front end negotiations of agreements with strategic partnerships and key customers to enhance capabilities with a focus on new business segments, as well as underserved markets. This leadership position will be responsible for the evaluation and development of future strategies, as well as being a creative thinker in driving successful market integration. He/she will also work very closely with engineering among other key functional partners to accelerate the technology funnel by identifying opportunities for the organization’s next “big bets” in product development by focusing on core competencies as well as adjacencies to deliver world leading automated solutions.

Other key responsibilities include:

• Achieves or exceeds profit plans by developing and executing strategies for manufacturing profit improvement, effective launch of new products and programs, and managing the budget to ensure that operational and financial goals are met or exceeded.

• Leads strategic alliances and partnerships with external organizations to support aggressive market development and growth.

• Builds organizational capability within the team by developing both internal talent and attracting external talent to the organization to continuously strive to strengthen the overall profitability of the business.

THE PERSON

Eaton is seeking an exceptionally talented and progressive thinking executive with excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of driving and achieving aggressive market development and growth. This leader will be a visionary with strong operations and bottom-line orientation, along with an effective interpersonal style and "hands-on" approach, enabling he/she to interact efficiently across multiple plants and locations as well as global support partners.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline is required. MBA/Master's degree is strongly preferred.

Minimum 15 years industry experience with at least 5 years P&L experience.

Skills:

• Prior experience in and possess deep understanding of the China vehicle industry.

• Strong operations background and has managed manufacturing operations with P&L responsibilities.

• Experience in working with multinationals (MNC’s), preferably US-based.

• Commercial industrial background is preferred with demonstrated ability to develop/execute strategic plans to support business or operational growth. Demonstrated strong track record in leading major strategy projects.

• Successful development and execution of long-term and short-term strategies that lead to accelerated revenue growth in an industrial business. This accomplished through analysis, market segmentation, and prioritization of various products, alliances and acquisition targets, and use of best practice tools to gain a deeper understanding of the value propositions of both existing and new customers and markets.

• Proven track record of building organizational capability and talent through effective recruiting, training, coaching, development and optimizing organizational design.

• Strong leadership capabilities.

• Business acumen with financial skills (P&L and business case analysis)

• Senior executive communication and presentation skills. Comfortable with public speaking.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills possess cultural sensitivity.

• Drive for results and ability to execute.

• Relationship building skills.
