The Regional Directors of HR (RDHR) for each region is GCM is responsible for cultivating a world-class workforce and fostering a "Great Place to Work for All" environment. This role ensures leaders drive high team engagement through comprehensive and effective HR and Talent strategies, including talent and leadership development, project management, innovation, performance reviews, employee relations, and compliance. The RDHR will provide strategic HR partnership to the Regional Operations Leader and regional leadership team, support property HR teams, and collaborate with the COE team to deliver advanced HR solutions.It is as critical for RDHR to drive Hilton’s culture at all levels to better serve our customers and team members and uphold Hilton’s Team Member code of conduct.

As Regional Director Human Resources South China, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

HR Strategy and Talent Development:

  • Be the strategic HR partner to regional leadership, offering professional advice and delivering people strategies. Own all HR KSP delivery in the region.
  • Collaborate with the HR VP GCM and Regional VP Operations to set and align regional HR strategies and KPIs to support business success.
  • Promote a "Great Place to Work for All" culture in the region and partner with the Regional Operations VP to achieve DE&I targets.
  • Drive talent development initiatives through rigorous talent review processes, succession planning, talent rotation and mobility, coaching, and mentoring to ensure talent pipeline readiness and sustainability.
  • Guide hotels in setting up annual HR plans and KPIs aligned with business and GCM HR targets.
  • Coach and develop property HR leaders to become effective HR business partners.
  • Partner with L&TD to drive Human Capital meetings at regional and area levels, ensuring succession planning for GM and 4Ds levels. Coach and direct hotel GMs/DHRs in setting up Human Capital Meetings at the hotel level.
  • Conduct regular talent conversations with HIPOs, Women-In-Leadership, Youth, and Differently-Abled populations at the property level.

Project and Program Management:

  • Manage regular HR projects and programs, including but not limited to Performance Management, Talent Review, Year-End Compensation Process, Diversity initiatives, and Global Team Member Surveys.
  • Collaborate closely with HR COEs to understand business trends and challenges, designing and implementing new projects or programs to support evolving business needs.
  • Ensure full adoption and implementation of new projects and programs at the property level, covering all aspects of HR management, including but not limited to Compensation & Benefits, Recruiting, Talent Management, HR Digitalization, and Productivity Management. Provide feedback to HR COEs and program owners for continuous improvement.
  • Support VP Ops / Area GMs and hotel GMs in owner communication, particularly in GM placement, HR initiatives implementation, and workforce planning.
  • Review hotel Director-level payroll packages to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness.
  • Lead and manage ad-hoc HR-related requests, including but not limited to property conversations, team member grievances, and workforce planning reviews.

Business Performance Review:

  • Be an active business partner with regional teams, including VP Operations, Finance, and Commercial, to monitor and guide hotel business performance.
  • Participate in budget presentations, monthly Rolling Forecast calls, and on-site business reviews to support hotels in achieving overall balance scorecard index.
  • Constantly look to innovate the HR practices and systems to drive efficiencies and productivity, to improve financial performance to hotels and enterprise.

Employee Relations and Compliance:

  • Ensure hotel operations comply fully with local labor laws and Hilton's policies and procedures, covering team member relations, workforce planning, performance management, training, Compensation & Benefits, and team member well-being.
  • Manage hotel compliance audits in the region to ensure full compliance.
  • Lead critical Employee Relations issues handling at the property level, especially leadership-related issues. Support Compliance or Finance in other compliance matters.
  • Support HR Pre-Opening for people-ready openings.
  • Conduct monthly meetings with property HRs in the region for effective communication, team engagement and best practice sharing.
  • Actively participate in all HR conferences, meetings, and Human Capital Meetings.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of HR experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing HR strategies in a multinational, matrixed, and diverse organization. Hospitality experience is a plus.
  • Excellent leadership, critical thinking, stakeholder engagement, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • A change agent for leading business-critical innovation and initiatives and a champion for diversity, equity, and inclusion culture.
  • Strong knowledge of local labor laws and regulations in the GCM region.
  • High level of coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills to proactively and effectively engage and influence key stakeholders and communicate effectively at all levels. Demonstrated personal and professional integrity.
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin.
  • Willingness to travel 50% or more of the time.
