Position summary
Assist accounting manager in general ledger accounting, as well as auditing, financial statement reporting and other ad hoc accounting matters for embecta Shanghai and Hongkong entities.
Responsibility
General accounting
Prepare monthly journal entries and maintain sufficient supporting work papers.
Prepare month end accruals, including payroll, bonus, vacation, marketing expenses, etc.
Ensure complete and accurate posting of balances from subledgers including but not limited to Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Accounts Receivable, etc.
Investigate unusual transactions, fluctuations and ensure accounts treatment is fully in compliance with GAAPs, company’s accounting policy and government requirements.
Reconcile and analyze balance sheet accounts on time and solve open items within proper time.
Reconcile intercompany transactions.
Follow the month-end closing process to ensure a timely and accurate finance closing.
Support internal audit and SOX compliance efforts.
Reporting
Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports.
Prepare reconciliation between US GAAP and local GAAP and post proper adjustment if any.
Prepare statistical reports and other statutory reports.
Assist with external auditors for US GAAP and local statutory audit process.
Provide related documents for tax filing required by tax team.
Ad hoc
Assist accounting manager to work with IT and other departments as necessary for continuous process improvement as well as any system issues.
Perform other duties and assignments as necessary.
Qualification
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting, auditing or finance related
Strong knowledge of accounting and auditing principles, familiar with US and PRC GAAP
5+ years GL experience of accounting
Background from audit firm and in pharm industry is preferred
Experience with handling a full set of accounting books is preferred
Good knowledge of SAP S4/HANA system
Fluent in English for both written and oral
CPA or ACCA certification is a plus
