SHIFT: Monday - Thursday, 2:30pm - 1:00am Position Summary: Operation of rewind inspection and or table rewind equipment visually inspecting for defects and completion of customer specified finishing requirements. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Sets up various rewind machines according to job ticket instructions. Prioritize jobs, based on information from Finishing Supervisor. Adjust strobe to ensure accurate inspection of continuously moving labels. Determine correct core size required. Correctly determine size of labels. Compare copy to approved proof and spec to verify correctness. Calculate correct quantity of labels per roll, or maximum outside diameter of finished rolls. Correctly interpret spec to insure unwind direction is correct. Completely document all job history on proper forms and in the PSI System. Calculate correct number of counts and finished labels quantities for each machine. Adjust blades, air tension, or speed as necessary for proper rewind. Prepare and print appropriate core labels. Appropriate splicing of finished rolls, following any special splicing needs indicated on spec sheet/job ticket. Watch for flags and remove all waste areas as indicated. Pull retain samples for customer, sales, and ticket that meet acceptable standards. Properly handle and make-ready perf dies, lineal scorers, and any tooling requirements. Accurately record counts. Complete daily time sheets when necessary and accurately record information in the PSI System. Organize and identify need for re-order of rewind supplies. Communicate with Production Supervisors to ensure any unusual problems or circumstances are clarified before packaging processes are started. Perform other duties as requested. Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work area. Continually strive to learn and improve all processes. Follow safety rules/regulations, company procedures and policies. Respect and cooperate with individuals and assist others in reaching objectives. Mandatory Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to interpret written instructions. Preferred Qualifications: Organizational and planning skills for self-directed daily activities. Multi-tasking and prioritizing skills. Bilingual or multilingual proficiency in any language (including ASL) preferred Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally. Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods of time. Ability to visually inspect work for defects. Ability to visually work with a strobe light on a very consistent basis. The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
