The Learning & Development Coordinator’s primary role will be to plan, develop, organize, and implement various training programs that will enhance the knowledge and skills of employees within the organization. This role requires strong communication and project management skills, as well as a passion for fostering a culture of continuous learning.

Essential Functions:

  • Assess/identify training needs throughout the organization, for new and existing employees that will address competency gaps by working with management to determine what is needed.

  • Research and deploy the utilization of the variety of delivery methods for training, such as classroom instruction, virtual, e-learning, on-the-job coaching, professional development classes, etc. based on the need.

  • Organize, develop or outsource training programs, developing training aids such as manuals, presentations, curriculums, etc. as needed.

  • Schedule training sessions, secure venues, and arrange necessary materials and resources and ensure all logistical aspects of training events run smoothly.

  • Market and communicate available training to management and employees, providing necessary information about sessions.

  • Continuously evaluate and make recommendations on training material and methodology.

  • Design and apply assessment tools to measure training effectiveness, providing feedback to trainers, program participants and management when needed.

  • Maintain accurate curriculum database and training records and report on training outcomes.

  • Host train-the-trainer sessions for internal subject matter experts.

  • Continuously use known education principles and stay up to date on new training methods and techniques.

    Work Environment:

    This position operates in an office environment, and at times a warehouse environment (which is temperature controlled at 34 degrees). This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.

    Physical Demands:

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear and read. This position involves sitting for extended periods of time while working at a computer terminal. Positions in this job family typically work in an office setting but may be assigned more physical duties such as transporting office supplies and equipment and bending and stooping to file. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

    This is a full-time, exempt position. Regular hours of work are Monday through Friday day shift, with the ability to flex schedule to different times as needed to accommodate training needs of all shifts.

    Travel:

    This position may require occasional travel to other company locations and/or off-site training venues.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of associate degree in related field preferred.

  • Experience in a training role with hands-on experience coordinating multiple training programs.

  • Adequate knowledge of learning management systems and web delivery tools.

  • Extensive knowledge of instructional design theory and implementation

  • Proven ability to complete full training cycles (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate).

  • Experience with Human Resources Information Systems

  • Intermediate skills using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint. etc.)

  • Certification such as ASTD (American Society for Training and Development) a plus.

  • Spanish speaking a plus
