PROJECT CONTROLS MANAGER
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Schedule Management
Risk & Issue Management
Assist in award process.
Own the baseline schedule and Schedule monitoring.
Work with the Owner, Designer, and Developer to create a master project schedule tracking the Tollgates to include Design, Contractor Bidding / Selection, contract award, Equipment Procurement, Equipment Fabrication.
Participate in reviewing and reporting on tenderer’s submissions, programs, and method statements, prepare a bid tabulation / comparison matrix, and advise on acceptability.
Vet vendors to ensure adherence to OWNER policies.
Coordinate and manage the schedule for the OWNER across Developer, designers, other consultants, and Contractors in accordance with the overall master schedule through the design process, including monitoring the design consultants to ensure that project timelines are met.
Be responsible for the review and coordination of the Design and Build team’s schedules.
Utilize detailed construction schedule as the basis for monitoring the progress of construction activities.
Ensure Design and Build Teams maintain and update their schedules on a monthly basis with actual data comparison against the baseline.
Monitor progress against the Master Schedule and highlight and document risks early enough to enable a mitigation and/or recovery plans.
Conduct weekly meetings to review the progress of the work and update the Design and Construction schedule with historical information from the previous week as well as planned progress changes for the future work.
Anticipate construction schedules specifically long-lead-time items.
Verify and report on contract milestones, forecasted completion, completion and/or non- completion.
Identify schedule delay mitigation and correction activities and plans.
Analysis and recording of contractor claims for extensions of time.
Issue and manage the master construction program for monitoring progress - prepare and communicate an execution strategy for works on site.
Conduct or attend weekly construction site meetings with Contractors and regularly scheduled meetings with the Owner, Designers, and Contractors (OAC) as required by the project.
Responsible for checking that consultants, contractors and vendors are fulfilling their contractual obligations in assessing and dealing with extensions of time and issuing the appropriate certificates.
Develop, maintain, and own a weekly Project Risk Management Plan.
Manage and coordinate risk workshops.
Issue a Risk Register on a frequent basis.
Develop risk/issue mitigation and / or avoidance actions and monitor/ensure completion.
