Siemens Energy Project Engineer in Selma, North Carolina

A Snapshot of Your Day

The selected candidate will provide support to the transformer team in a variety of tasks that will improve the efficiency of the service group. You will participate as a team member to develop scope/service documentation, provide schedule guidance, and outage planning. Provide support including but not limited to, scope development, submittals, customer deliverables, work packages, One Drive organization, Server record management, Sales Force updates, logistics, report generation, procurement, and Emergency management assistance.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Supports Projects Managers, Proposals Engineers as well Field Service Engineers with projects and services contracts.

  • Participate as a team member to develop Service documentation, provide schedule guidance, and outage planning.

  • Communicate clearly and professionally, (written and/or verbal), regarding safety, (i.e., tailgate meetings), security or environmental incidents, safety violations or near misses.

  • Coordinate personal lodging and travel and other transportation, as needed Responsible for completing time & expense and field service job reports when performing at site, using on- line/administrative tools or software.

  • Assist with coordination of test /rental equipment when needed.

  • Recommend alterations to development and design to improve quality of processes and or procedures.

Aid project team in registration / inventory of assets. Support proposal team with reading specifications for tender, calculating and writing tender proposals based on RFQ received, entering opportunities into Salesforce. Works closely with proposal team and parts business. Follow and/or enforce Siemens Environmental Health & Safety policies. Perform duties in accordance with customer, industry and corporate laws, regulations, and standards.

What You Bring

  • A high school diploma (or equivalent) is required. Bachelor’s degree in constructions management or engineering preferred. 8 years experience can be substituted for a degree. The candidate will work under the direct supervision and training of senior personnel within Siemens Energy Transmission Services.

  • The successful candidate will be trained on Transformers, FACTS and HVDC station equipment and controls.

  • Strong written and verbal communications.

  • Reports directly to QA/QC Manager and performs work under the supervisory direction of project managers and field service managers. Effective communication with both, Ops Manager, and staff, is required throughout active projects and when awaiting assignment and/or stand-by time.

Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
