Alamo Group Inc. Production Supervisor - Paint in Seguin, Texas
Position Summary:
Supervises and coordinates activities of employees engaged in powder painting products according to specs. Organizes and maintains production schedules.
Essential Functions of the Job:
Supervises employees engaged in powder painting all products according to specs
Maintains time records, and analyzes departmental performance
Trains employees on the proper paint methods and work procedures for production and safety
Ensures paint quality is maintained on all painted parts
Initiates or recommends personnel action(s) such as promotions, transfers, disciplinary measures and/or terminations through appropriate channels and/or by following proper procedures. Completes and administers subordinate’s performance evaluations
Enforces safety rules and regulations. Ensures department and surrounding area(s) is clean and orderly. Conduct safety tours and attend weekly safety meetings
May confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments
Plans, trains and assists in set ups for production
Maintains and checks washer cleaning solutions and paint supplies. Starts the oven and burner on the washer
Performs/coordinates repair on paint pumps
Organizes and assists in cleaning out of washers and paint booths and schedules major maintenance of equipment
Determines the paint, personal protective equipment, cleaning supplies and repair parts needed and coordinates/ensures procurement
May perform direct and indirect labor to meet production needs
May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s):
Knowledge and understanding of powder and liquid paint processes, production processes, maintenance and equipment operation required
Excellent communication skills required, both verbal and written. Good human relations skills necessary
Good leadership skills; must be able to problem solve persuade and motivate
Good coordination skills, must be able to plan, prioritize and organize various activities
May be required to travel
Knowledge and ability to use test kit for chemical analysis required
Must be able to paint, handle parts and operate a lift truck
Knowledge of OSHA regulations required

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED certificate required. College degree or Technical School preferred.
Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in paint environment
Working Conditions:
Must be physically capable of standing/working 8+ hour shift(s)
Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines / schedules
Must be able to work overtime as needed to complete job assignments (including weekends).
Must be able to lift, carry and/or move up to 35 pounds alone and greater than 35 pounds with assistance.
Ability to wear appropriate PPE, including hearing / eye protection, gloves and safety shoes.
