Calo Senior Manager - Regional People Ops in Seef, Bahrain

Today, our biggest opportunity for success is up-skilling and building our people operations function and team members to be the main drivers of change of P&C initiatives in the company.

We’re looking for a passionate leader, who disagrees with the conventional HR norms and is interested in building and inspiring that 10/5 star experience with us.

The role is primarily based in Bahrain and will require frequent traveling to be close to the local teams. We’re happy to support you in relocation if this role is of interest and you’re not based in Bahrain.

Scope of role 1- People partnering

You’ll be responsible for building our people partnering systems and ways of work and up-skilling our existing people operations team members on how to be effective department/country partners.

As the leader of the People Ops function, you’ll be looking after the largest vertical of the P&C department which includes 13 employees across different countries.

You will have to champion the empathy-first approach our people partners must have with our employees and build a team culture around that.

2- Building a center of excellence

You’ll be responsible for building a center of excellence and a support function for all our business units and looking after everything from benefits management to compliance and governance systems.

Your role is to elevate the team’s strategic thinking through stronger KPIs setting and monitoring processes and help build a continuous improvement culture in all areas of People Ops.

3- Local country strategy and governance

Every country and business unit will look slightly different and have different needs. You’ll be responsible for helping the local teams set those strategies and agendas and support them in executing them.

You will also be the go-to person to consult on how our people's experience should be localized and distinguished while maintaining the authentic Calo culture feel.

 

Ideal candidate for us

  • You have significant experience (5-10 years) in People Operations and have worked and been part of regional teams

  • You have a great understanding of the labor laws in the GCC, and you can build an understanding of a new market’s regulations quickly if needed 

  • You have great experience with managing teams and building an effective team culture 

  • You lead and design systems and processes with an empathy-driven approach 

  • You’re able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, especially when it comes to things such as company policies 

  • You’re excited and hungry for a work culture that cares deeply about people’s well-being and doing things the “right and fair way”
