STATE FAIR COMMUNITY COLLEGE Upward Bound Administrative Assistant in SEDALIA, Missouri
Under the general supervision of the Upward Bound Program Director, the Administrative Assistant provides high level support to the Upward Bound programs at Smith-Cotton High School in Sedalia, Eldon High School, and Camdenton High School. The individual helps plan, develop, coordinate, and implement educational and cultural programs and services for high school students participating in the Upward Bound programs.

Duties and Responsibilities: -Works closely with SFCC Business Office personnel to provide bookkeeping and office accounting to include requisitions, expense reports, grant follow-up, and budget reconciliations. -Individual assists with the identification and selection of program participants. -Collects and monitors student academic records. Assists in updating various program manuals, maintains programs participant records and student database in accordance with the U.S. Department of Education regulations, contributes to federal Annual Progress Report. Coordinates cultural outings, coordinates and monitors service projects, plans and facilitates on-campus college visits. -Creates and maintains stipend records, creates rosters, prepares and delivers mailings to program audience, maintains accurate budget records. -Assists in planning and implementation of the Summer Academic Academy and the End of Summer Cultural Reward Trip. -Individual networks with program constituents at SFCC and target schools and outside professional in regards to program development and success. -Educates the public on program specifics and helps to maintain a positive image of the program. -Cheerfully performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Education: An Associates Degree in Office Management/Administration or related field preferred.
Experience: Three years experience working in an office setting. Working for a federal grant program preferred. Experience may be substituted for education.
Work Environment: -Work involves sedentary to light work in an office setting. There is frequent sitting, with walking, standing and stooping occasionally required. There is an occasional need to lift objects (up to 10 pounds) and perform other similar actions during the course of the workday. -During the Summer Academic Academy, in the months of June and July, all Upward Bound staff may expect to work outside of normal office hours. -The regular 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. workday may frequently be extended or flexed as daily needs dictate. -SAA hours are flexible and set at the discretion of the Program Director. -Occasional travel to target schools and between the Sedalia and LOZ campus will be required. -The position may primarily operate out of the LOZ campus or Sedalia campus based on candidates preference. -Employee accommodations for physical or mental disabilities will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Knowledge and Interest: -Must possess a desire to effectively dissolve socio-economic barriers to higher education. -Have a genuine interest in, and working knowledge of first-generation college students. -Maintain a consistent commitment to ethical business and management practices. -Have knowledge of data-driven decision-making, strategic planning, and resource allocation. -Individual must be computer proficient: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Access), Google Drive Applications, and Smartsheet. -Enjoy coordinating people and resources to create educational and cultural experiences for high school students that result in positive student outcomes.
