STATE FAIR COMMUNITY COLLEGE Psychology Instructor in SEDALIA, Missouri
SFCC provides a high-quality, geographically, financially and emotionally accessible education to more than 4,000 students who range from traditional college-age students to adult learners.
The college offers associate of arts, associate of fine arts, associate of science and associate of applied science degrees, professional and skills certificates, and noncredit courses and programs, and workforce development training in a 14-county area in central Missouri with locations in Sedalia, Boonville, Clinton, Eldon, Lake of the Ozarks, Whiteman Air Force Base, Jefferson City and online.
Position Purpose:State Fair Community College has an opening on the Sedalia campus for a full-time psychology instructor / program coordinator.

Essential Job Functions:
- Guide adjunct instructors through curriculum and outcomes assessment, including summer training
- Work with associate dean to observe section instructors, including limited travel
- Provide input on course scheduling
- Complete program review
- Stay abreast of trends and best practices in the content area and apply them to the discipline
- Attend and offer professional development
- Instruct assigned courses (15 credit hours required for fall and spring semesters)
- Utilize technology (including Canvas)
- Maintain a student-centered approach
- Deliver content in multiple formats to address student needs, including eight-week, twelve-week and sixteen-week formats in on-ground, hybrid, web conference, evening, and online settings.
- Other duties as deemed necessary for the function of the college

Qualifications
Education/Experience:
Preference is given to candidates with a masters degree in psychology or a closely related field, at least three years of teaching experience in higher education (preferably at a community college), and a record of teaching excellence.
Skills:
- Demonstrate evidence of excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate student centeredness. Be able to interact with a broad range of people with
diverse backgrounds both on and off campus in a positive manner.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the philosophy and mission of the community college.
- Have a willingness to take on additional responsibility and work collaboratively.
- Possess a working knowledge of computers as a medium to manage and improve
instruction.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to interact verbally in person, over the telephone, and via written and electronic media.
- Ability to move about campus and other locations.
- Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
