The Childrens Place Financial Planning & Real Estate Analyst in Secaucus, New Jersey

Job Summary:

The Analyst will provide financial forecasting, business planning, and general accounting support to the FP&A and Real Estate Analytics leadership while working in a high paced environment. This position will produce and provide financial analyses to internal clients and management.

The analyst will also support the real estate decision making process through in-depth financial analysis and investment recommendations, sales & expense forecasting, and real estate analytics, in partnership with various corporate functions.

Responsibilities:

Key Accountabilities:

  • Maintain weekly, monthly, and quarterly models that assemble financial forecast for the stores and real estate, and sync that information with the financial planning system

  • Prepare month-end and quarter-end entries, financial reporting & GL analysis as needed

  • Extract and report KPI for Stores and Real Estate deals

  • Maintain supplier/partner database, plan for expenditures, and track payment history and metrics

  • Assist with the development of a LRP and in the annual Budget process

  • Support real estate specific or company strategic initiatives such as long rang plan, open-to-buy, and customer experience

  • Work with Real Estate Managers to create Deal sheets and lease analytics for management evaluations.

  • Provide spatial analysis and support RE analytics including demographics, sales distribution, trade area analysis, etc.

  • Partner with cross functional teams

  • Test and suggest new reports in response to current business issues and execute the necessary changes to implement

  • Complete special projects and analysis as needed

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field

  • 2+ years of experience in accounting or financial planning and analysis, retail industry a plus

Critical Skills

  • Exceptional communication

  • Solid knowledge of financial theory and able to perform financial analysis in a fast paced environment

  • Expert in Excel; Strong in PowerPoint

  • Strong analytical, problem solving, organization and communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to form strong working relationships with business partners

  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently

  • Looks for opportunities to improve existing processes

  • Collaborator with a positive attitude

  • Agile learner, able to quickly assimilate relationships between variables under analysis

  • SAP, Hyperion, or Cognos experience a plus
