We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a NOC Technician in Secaucus, New Jersey. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing equipment configurations, troubleshooting, and ensuring the general health of Communication Rooms and storage rooms. The role involves coordinating work requests, assembling server equipment for installation, and providing on-call support when necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Schedule workload for building(s) and coordinate movement of equipment between rooms, floors, and buildings

• Translate IT and vendor requests into work orders and review all outstanding scope requests (Tickets) on a daily basis

• Order appropriate facilities work and manage equipment decommissions and re-locations to maximize cabinet space

• Initiate power requests with the infrastructure team and coordinate work requests with electrical contractor to ensure all Service Levels are met

• Perform server configurations, equipment troubleshooting, and be responsible for the general health of Communication Rooms and storage rooms

• Assemble server equipment for installation, verify and test all network connections and peripherals prior to handing off to clients

• Manage installation requests from initiation to closure and allocate rack position for equipment installation

• Label all equipment front and rear, prepare customer turnover package and perform turnover walkthrough's with customers

• Support equipment "go live" for IT Business Units, accept all delivered circuits, support, troubleshoot and perform break-fix work in conjunction with Communication Room Group, vendor, and customers

• Update various inventory databases each time a device is visited and perform audits and inventories of equipment in Communication Room

Requirements • Possession of a minimum of one year of experience as a NOC Technician or in a related role.

• Proficiency in handling Fiber Optics and Network Cabling.

• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Cisco Routers and Router Switches.

• Proficient in working with Physical Servers.

• Experience with Copper Cabling is essential.

• Should not have any discriminatory words or phrases in their professional history.

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

• Problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot network issues.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Willingness to work in shifts and provide after-hours support when necessary.
