Weyerhaeuser Vice President of Financial Operations - Wood Products in Seattle, Washington
The Vice President of Financial Operations will be pivotal in driving financial excellence within the Wood Products division. This senior executive will oversee all aspects of financial planning, reporting, analysis, and operations, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and growth objectives. The VP will spearhead initiatives in cost optimization, capital investments, risk management, and financial reporting, thereby enhancing profitability and operational efficiency. This role demands a strategic finance leader with extensive experience in manufacturing and supply chain management, particularly within wood products or related industries. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and is based out of our Seattle, WA headquarters on a hybrid schedule in office Tue-Thur and the ability to work remote Monday and Friday.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership: Cultivate and mentor a high-performing finance team; promote cross-functional collaboration.
- Financial Strategy & Planning: Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning to drive growth and profitability.
- Operational Financial Management: Optimize processes, implement cost controls, and develop pricing strategies to enhance margins and competitiveness.
- Reporting & Compliance: Ensure precise financial reporting and compliance, providing actionable insights for leadership.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks, with a focus on industry-specific challenges such as commodity price fluctuations.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with key stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and regulatory bodies, to ensure financial strategies align with broader business objectives.
- Technology Integration: Lead the integration of new financial technologies and systems to improve efficiency and data accuracy.
Sustainability Initiatives: Develop and implement financial strategies that support the company’s sustainability goals and initiatives.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Certifications: Professional certifications such as CPA, CFA, or CMA are preferred.
- Experience:Over 12 years of senior finance leadership experience, or a combination of finance and operational leadership experience, ideally within the manufacturing or wood products industries.
- Technical Skills: Extensive knowledge of financial planning and analysis, financial reporting, and ERP systems; strong proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis.
- Industry Knowledge: In-depth expertise in the wood products sector, with a thorough understanding of market dynamics, cost structures, and industry-specific regulatory requirements.
- Large-Scale Organizational Management: Proven track record of managing and leading large, complex organizations, demonstrating the ability to oversee multiple departments and functions effectively.
- Process Transformation: Demonstrated ability to lead and implement significant process improvements and transformations, ensuring operational efficiency and strategic alignment with organizational goals. Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $207,000 - $316,600 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 35% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target. This position is also eligible to receive $121,000 in restrictive stock units on an annual basis, as part of our Long Term Incentive Plan.

Retirement: Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.
Paid Time Off or Vacation: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours.
