Clean Harbors Trans Compliance Specialist in Seattle, Washington
Clean Harbors is looking for a Transportation Compliance Specialist to sit in Denver, CO. The Transportation Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring regional and/or provincial activities involving transportation by way of highway, vessel, rail or air are conducted in strict compliance with all applicable federal, state, provincial and local requirements.

Provide technical support on transportation related issues to sales, field operating groups, facilities, and the training group.
Develop and maintain a good relationship with state and provincial regulatory agencies.
Conduct announced and unannounced inspections at company facilities and service centers to review compliance related operational components that include vehicle maintenance files, driver files, transportation related permits and authorities, equipment readiness, driver vehicle inspection reports, time keeping records, manifests, load preparation and condition, and other related transportation records & equipment.
Prepare and assist facilities and service centers for audits and inspections, such as state, federal or provincial inspections.
Audit and inspect third-party transportation subcontractors utilized by the company.
Assist field-based transportation coordinators and general managers with the interpretation and implementation of policies and procedures relative to transportation compliance.
Assist corporate based transportation compliance department personnel with issues and questions relating to driver, vehicle, and facility transportation issues.
Participate in the incident and accident investigations when applicable.
Assist in the development and delivery of transportation related training modules.
Provide expertise if the interpretation of federal, state and company transportation related regulations and policies.
Partner with Health & Safety and Environmental Compliance as it relates to internal multi- media inspections and audits.
Provide 24-hour support to all operating groups. Be available to provide guidance, support & direction.
Ensure appropriate chain of command is notified and kept current.
Other assigned duties
Bachelor's Degree required
3 to 5 years’ experience in Transportation/Logistics/Environmental Science or related required
Excellent verbal/written communication skills
Excellent presentation skills
Excellent organizational skills
Able to work under strict deadlines
Compliance experience
Extensive working knowledge of both US and Canadian Federal, State & Provincial regulations pertaining to transportation, hazardous waste management and solid waste management.
Proficient in Windows based applications including but not limited to Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Valid Passport
Valid Drivers License
