The Office of the Title IX Coordinator at the University of Washington (UW) is responsible for implementing and ensuring compliance with Title IX and other laws and guidance regarding sex- and gender-based discrimination across all UW campuses, medical centers & clinics, and anywhere the UW does business or provides learning opportunities. To prevent and address sex discrimination and sex-based harassment, and to comply with federal law, the UW must provide regular training and ongoing communications to UW employees and students to ensure they are aware of their rights and responsibilities.

Under the direction of the Deputy Title IX Coordinator for Education and Prevention, the Training & Communications Specialist designs and delivers comprehensive training programs on the prevention of and response to sex- and gender-based violence, harassment, and discrimination for employees and students across all campuses, medical centers, and programs within the UW. The Training & Communications Specialist also develops and maintains communication materials, websites, and content in online learning management systems. This position collaborates extensively with subject matter experts, campus partners, and UW colleges, schools, and departments. Duties & Responsibilities: Design and Deliver Training • Design and deliver in-person, virtual, and online training on the prevention of and response to sex- and gender-based violence, harassment, and discrimination for employees and students • Partner with colleagues, subject matter experts, and community stakeholders to develop research-based, effective, and engaging training • Review and update training materials regularly to ensure they meet learning objectives and comply with University policies and federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including Title IX and the Clery Act • Partner with UW units, schools, and departments to develop and deliver tailored training. • Collaborate with campus partners who provide related training to ensure consistency and alignment with training efforts

Develop Resources and Communication Materials • Assist in the development and implementation of campus-wide and tailored awareness campaigns • Create and maintain content for various platforms, including websites, publications, email marketing campaigns, social media channels, and newsletters • Support the production of engaging and high-quality online educational materials, such as videos, multimedia content, and interactive activities • Ensure all communications materials meet accessibility standards • Maintain comprehensive records of all training and communication materials in accordance with Title IX regulations and records retention policies • Maintain a repository of model training materials, guides, resources, and tools to support prevention and response efforts

Manage Technical Systems • Utilize learning management systems (LMS) and other educational technologies to enhance and manage online course delivery, learner engagement, reporting, and compliance • Utilize WordPress to update content on websites managed by the Office of the Title IX Coordinator • Participate in the management of technical systems and integrations between employee and student databases to track online training course completion and ensure data accuracy • Respond to student and employee inquiries about online courses, course compliance, and technical systems • Create documentation to support employees and students with using online training courses effectively. • Develop and maintain comprehensive user guides for the Title IX team on the usage of technical systems

Assessment, Evaluation, and Reporting • Work with UW units, schools, and departments to assess needs to customize training programs accordingly • Assess training programs' effectiveness and learning outcomes using feedback, evaluation tools, and focus groups, and recommend improvements • Collaborate with additional staff in Compliance Services to ensure that reports are generated to inform the University of employee and student course compliance status • Assist Deputy Title IX Coordinator in identifying and implementing strategies to assess barriers to reporting or engaging with Title IX support and services

Other Duties • Represent the Office of the Title IX Coordinator on University task forces and committees • Provide input on strategic planning and vision and ensure objectives are met • Stay current on national trends, research, policies, and best practices related to discrimination, harassment, and violence prevention and response. • Engage in national prevention coalitions and associations to contribute to and learn from collaborative efforts • Other duties as assigned

Requirements: • Bachelor's degree and 3 years relevant training and communications experience • Equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills have been acquired may substitute for degree • Familiarity with learning management platforms (e.g., Workday Learning, Learn Dash, Advantage Design Group) and other educational technologies • Proficiency in the use of Zoom, Microsoft Office programs, InDesign, Google Workspace, and WordPress • Experience developing and facilitating training programs for adults and best practices in online education • Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and adapt to evolving priorities • Demonstrated experience in working on diverse groups and teams; respects, values, and contributes to CRS and UW’s commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equity

Desired: • Experience working in a higher education setting • Demonstrated experience in collaborative project management • Knowledge in the subject area(s) relevant to the courses being developed, including discrimination, sexual harassment, sexual assault, relationship violence, or stalking • Knowledge of relevant federal policies, including Title IX and the Clery Act • Experience in online course development and instructional design • Familiarity with accessibility standards
