Aston Carter Technical Program Manager in Seattle, Washington

FULLY REMOTE Contract Opportunity based in Seattle, WA.

Candidates must be based in PST time zone for consideration for this role.

Pay: $50-$62 MAX.

Purpose of the Team: The purpose of this team is supporting experimentation in a large consumer sales enablement organization. The team leads the experimentation function for large digital stores. This team works with business partners across the Stores engineering and marketing teams. They perform research on the websites and Store channels. They define, test and refine hypothesis. They publish online experiences and deliver reports on insights.

Key projects: This role will contribute to planning, documenting and managing activities related to experiments for the Experimentation program.

The role will also provision access and deployment instructions for commonly used tools across the network, including: Adobe Analytics, Adobe Target, ContentSquare, and various internal tools. The role will collaborate closely with marketing team partners including site management, product management, analytics, design, and dev teams. Contractor should have experience in strategic planning of experiments, test design, planning, and analyzing A/B tests. The candidate should have extensive project management experience and be able to coordinate concurrent projects with multiple stakeholders. They will work with lots of external stakeholders as well.

Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm: The role will consist of 50% meetings, 50% heads down. The role will work with three larger vendor teams that maintain day to day tickets, run experiments tracked through Azure DevOps and be hands on with the teams to ensure experiments gather all info and meet metrics. They will work closely with the sponsor on strategy and long term planning/road mapping.

Candidate Requirements

Years of Experience Required: 5-7+ overall years of

experience in the field.

Degrees or certifications required: No degree is required to be eligible for this role, however a Digital marketing degree is preferred.

Disqualifiers: Candidates with exclusively a System and operations background /mainly PMP experience will not be eligible for the role – An exclusively operations background and PMP certifications primarily emphasize procedural aspects, while this role requires a more dynamic and creative approach, with a specific focus on developing and implementing experimentation strategies, planning, executing, and reporting.

Best vs. Average:

  • The ideal resume would contain experience with complex experimentation. Working with multiple stakeholders is also a plus.

  • Some front-end development knowledge (helpful, not required)

  • Visual software knowledge

  • Industry experience with A/B testing

  • Comparable team experience

  • Strong communications and influencing skills – written and presentation.

  • Operational responsibilities including sprint planning, Kanban maintenance.

  • Experience driving a project to completion

Top 3 Hard Skills Required + Years of Experience

  • Minimum 5 years experience with A/B testing platforms and toolkits.

  • Minimum 7 years experience with Adobe Analytics, Power BI, Azure Dev Ops.

  • Minimum 4 years experience with a background in Online/Digital UX and eCommerce best practices.

Accountabilities & deliverables:

  • Plan and execute tests as the Experimentation Program Manager (subject matter expert), including strategic planning, roadmap development, and individual test designs.

  • Gather all necessary information from key business stakeholders and participants to document requirements for new experiments.

  • Ensure the finalization of experiment readouts and their proper posting to the central repository.

  • Review analyses of completed tests to guarantee result accuracy, provide clear customer insights, and deliver actionable recommendations to stakeholders.

  • Become very familiar and be able to search our library of past experiments, Insights, and Learning Series to understand effective strategies for enhancing the customer experience on our site. Over time, compose new Insights and Learning Series to improve the quality of experiments and achieve conclusive outcomes (wins or losses, not inconclusive), thereby maximizing the overall impact of our experimentation program.

  • Have the ability to run basic reports for planning sessions, status/guardrail check-ins as needed, and estimating test durations for new experiments.

  • Support training and community activities related to the experimentation program.

  • Collaborate with tool partners to provision new accounts for Adobe Analytics, Target, ExP, and ContentSquare.

  • Attend all required team, standup, and other meetings.

Experience required:

  • 5-10 years experience

  • Experience driving a project to completion.

  • Strong background in Online/Digital UX and eCommerce best practices

  • Knowledge and past experience in A/B testing, processes

  • Someone who knows how to look at the why behind the what.

  • Experience looking at traffic sources to the websites.

  • Experience in A/B testing platforms and toolkits

  • Experience in Adobe Analytics, Power BI, Azure Dev Ops (preferred, but not required)

  • Strong communications and influencing skills – written and presentation.

  • Operational responsibilities including sprint planning, Kanban maintenance.

  • Some front-end development knowledge (helpful, not required)
