Job Title: Technical Program Manager (TPM): Opto-Mechanical Systems - Space Craft Level

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Program Manager (TPM) with expertise in opto-mechanical systems at the spacecraft level. You will be responsible for running large-scale programs, aligning stakeholders, and managing tight timelines. This role requires the ability to handle ambiguity and pivot as needed. The ideal candidate will bring a system engineering perspective, verify requirements, and communicate effectively with the team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage large-scale opto-mechanical system programs at the spacecraft level.

  • Align stakeholders and ensure clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Handle tight timelines and manage ambiguity, adapting to changes as necessary.

  • Verify requirements and ask pertinent questions to ensure project success.

  • Design and manufacture aircraft components, including lasers, communication switches, mirrors, and cameras, all at space size.

  • Ensure effective communication via optical links, laser pointing, and complete optical mesh networks.

  • Provide concise updates and specific written communications as needed.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with opto-mechanical systems and aerospace engineering.

  • Proficiency in Smartsheet and network communication tools.

  • Strong technical program management skills, including running large programs.

  • Ability to handle tight timelines and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Systems engineering skills, bridging the gap between engineering and TPM.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Experience in design and manufacturing of spacecraft components.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with systems engineering in aerospace or related fields.

  • Experience in opto-mechanical design and network communication.

  • Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment without getting overwhelmed.

Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $85.00 - $88.00/hr.
