This role supports various areas within ITS, specifically ITSM, providing a well-rounded opportunity to learn, support, and contribute to an integral team within the UW organization. The position requires a schedule that aligns with weekly operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Mainly focused on assisting the Knowledge Manager in implementing ITIL Best Practice Knowledge Management to UW Medicine ITS.o Assist Knowledge Manager and ITS teams with the transition of knowledge articles in current data sources to Unite.o Help Knowledge Managers with developing procedures, work instructions (How To’s), and training materials to support the Knowledge Management process and policies.o Collaborate with Knowledge Manager and ITS Teams to complete assignments.
Assist in ITSM (Knowledge Management, Change Management, Configuration Management, and others) daily operational activities, as needed.o Review Knowledge Articles and ensure that appropriate info is provided and follows in accordance with Knowledge Management process and procedures.o Track and maintain knowledge articles to ensure the process is followed and supporting documents are up to date.o Audit knowledge articles, change requests, and CMDB and ensure UW Medicine ITS is free of audit exposures.o Assist in updating existing documentation as needed.o Review and approve change requests as needed.
Assist in ITSM special projects as needed.
Assist in teams daily operational duties in the following area – Knowledge Management but not limited to:
Review Knowledge Articles ensure that appropriate info is provided and follows accordance with Knowledge Management.
Assist Knowledge Manager with daily operational duties
Track, maintain and audit Knowledge Articles
Assist in updating Knowledge Articles into UNITE (ServiceNow)
Assist in process documentation
Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Currently enrolled as UW student who meets enrollment eligibility requirements.
Local resident during employment.
Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (ServiceNow plus).
Strong attention to detail and process oriented.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to work well with others on team projects.
Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
Flexibility with proven ability to conform to shifting priorities and business needs.
