The Global Total Rewards Savings & Retirement team has an opening for a senior savings specialist.
This role provides a broad opportunity to lead, administer, and design strategies to enhance the overall financial well-being of Starbucks partners. We are looking for a passionate partner focused on functional excellence with significant retirement plan expertise. In this role, you will support the administration for our retirement plans, our U.S. financial well-being benefits as well as our non-qualified plan. You will need strong communication, reconciliation acumen, and ERISA compliance expertise paired with a strong ability to manage service providers and collaborate cross-functionally with technology, payroll, and communications as well as the broader Total Rewards and PRO team. The ultimate objective of this role is to effectively, efficiently, and accurately provide administration of programs while helping to improve retirement outcomes.
As a senior savings specialist, you will…
Support administration for Starbucks retirement and savings programs by monitoring eligibility, ensuring accurate data transfer to and from service providers, facilitating enrollment, and helping to communicate retirement benefits and financial well-being benefits to partners
Support the administration of various financial well-being programs
Understand and ensure compliance with applicable retirement rules and regulations including ERISA, PPA, Secure Act, etc.
Be responsible for optimizing administrative processes, maintaining documentation, and supporting audit requirements to ensure the efficiency and accuracy of the retirement plans
Conduct analysis of plan design and utilization and drive recommendations for enhancement or revisions to benefits and to increase participation
Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the systems and technology necessary to administer and maintain the various plans
Train team members to perform administrative processes and mentor team member development
Represent Starbucks and advocate for our culture and our partners
We’d love to hear from people with:
4+ years’ experience in employee retirement benefits administration
3 years of business experience in retirement plan design, administration, and analysis
2+ years of internal and external relationship management
1 year of business project management experience
2 years of payroll systems expertise (SAP, Partner Central)
Four-year college degree, preferably in business, finance, math, business analytics, or human resources discipline
Strong Microsoft Office skills including full proficiency in Excel with the ability to analyze, modify, manipulate, and compare very large data sets/spreadsheets

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.
The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
