Job Description

We are a team in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) that owns the critical building blocks for OCI service development. Our mission is to give our customers the best-in-class tools and services to build and manage their Oracle cloud infrastructure. There are exciting opportunities in our space with large impacts. An engineer at any level can have a significant technical and business impact. All the projects will have design, architecture, development and operations opportunities. We are looking for hands-on engineers with expertise and passion in building the back-end and tools for our public cloud infrastructure. There is significant scope to develop your breadth and depth of skills in this role.

Responsibilities
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work with other team members in the software design and development of major components in OCI services. You will also collaborate with other teams across the company on solutions and features. You should be comfortable with back-end development, be able to architect broad systems interactions, be hands-on, be able to dive deep into any part of the stack, and have a good sense for developer experience. You should value simplicity and impact, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn.
Basic Qualifications:
5+ years of experience with cloud service development
Proficient at programming in Java or other major programming/scripting language
Strong systems fundamentals and deliver products from scratch.
Strong design and system architecture skills
Bachelors in computer science and engineering or related engineering fields
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiar with Kubernetes.
Developed AWS/GCP/Azure backend services.
Masters / PhD degree in Computer Science

US: Hiring Range: from $74,800 to $178,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
