Blue Origin LLC SLD Senior Ground Software Architect Engineer - Lunar Permanence in Seattle, Washington

Lunar Transportation: This role is part of the Lunar Transportation business unit, which develops Blue Origin's multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface. As part of a growing team of experts, you will work with a small, hardworking, and accomplished team of Ground System, Software, and Mission Operations Engineers, working on performing ground and operations development tasks supporting both space-to-ground and ground-to-ground links throughout their full system lifecycle. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Looking for problems within software systems and resolving the issues. Training and helping to plan the activities of the development team. Evaluating, identifying, and developing software solutions. Locating and directing solutions for critical challenges involving software and hardware interface. Forward looking at what problems will need to be solved so ensure continuous productivity in software system design. Minimum Qualifications B.S. or higher degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, aerospace engineering, or related field or equivalent experience. Extensive experience in ground station development. 15+ years professional aerospace experience. Proficiency with AWS. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication skills to interact with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external partners. Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and present architectural concepts to non-technical audiences. Proven understanding of source control tools and concepts such as git workflows, versioning, branching. Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Preferred Qualifications Masters or PhD in related discipline. Experience with NPR 7150.2D. Experience with unit testing and test-driven development Experience with Agile methodologies Aerospace Industry experience with safety critical software and/or tools qualification activities Compensation range for on site CO applicants is $157,054-$219,875 Compensation range for on site WA applicants is $170,805-$239,127 Other site ranges may differ Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed.
