The UW Graduate School is seeking a Full-Time , Temporary SLATE Admissions Specialist to manage and maintain the admissions application Technolutions SLATE platform for the Graduate Enrollment Management Services (GEMS) team. The SLATE Admissions Specialist will provide guidance and support to functional users in the day-to-day use of Slate for graduate student admissions. Working under the direction of the Assistant Director of Slate Administration, this position will acquire, maintain, and apply up-to-date specialized knowledge of graduate school admissions using SLATE including the related principles, practices, operations, maintenance activities, methods, policies, procedures, and regulations. Key responsibilities include serving as the primary resource for inquiries related to SLATE functionality for admissions, applying independent judgment to requests for quarterly application updates/changes, documenting all Slate processes, and creating and maintaining resources for Slate user training.
The temporary SLATE Admissions Specialist is a key member of the GEMS team. GEMS ensures that the University of Washington’s (UW) high standards for admissions are maintained by providing leadership to graduate programs as it relates to the graduate admissions process, ensuring compliance with all state, federal, and UW policies and processes. This position will also facilitate communications between information technology staff, end-users, and stakeholders.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Monitor shared inbox and respond to all program inquiries regarding Slate functions, prioritizing urgent requests; respond to all program inquiries for updates/changes to applications based on the quarterly cycle for updates; work with clients to solve complex, non-routine problems as they arise. • Establish timelines, processes, and procedures, and manage the update and maintenance of Slate-hosted applications and forms for 400+ graduate programs on a quarterly and ah-hoc basis to ensure accuracy and support of all strategic initiatives. • Update and maintain application decision processes, including checklists per population, reader bins and forms, print, and electronic admission, and releasing admission decisions. Monitor and report on key metrics and prepare programmatic reports for a variety of audiences. • Act as primary resource and provide consultative advice for faculty, staff, students and applicants on all three campuses for questions related to graduate school admissions via the Slate application. • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the SLATE platform and its admissions-related functions. Keep current on newly released Slate features and tools to support ongoing improvements to the Slate application process. • Understand and maintain compliance with Graduate School admissions policies and local, state, and federal accessibility and inclusion laws and best practices. • Perform annual cycle prep work for graduate admission based on required deadlines. • Develop and maintain training resources for Slate users and documentation of Slate processes. • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field. • 3 years of experience in CRM. • Demonstrated ability to advise diverse pool of constituents on policy and process. • Ability to exercise discretion, maintain confidentiality, and use independent judgment. • Strong interpersonal communication skills. • Strong organizational skills. • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines. • Demonstrated experience with and ability to anticipate and plan for cyclical activities and strong analytical skills.
Desirable Qualifications
• Experience with Technolutions Slate system. • Professional work experience in either higher education or data management systems. • Familiarity with Parchment Premium transcript services.
Conditions of Employment This is a hybrid position requiring at least 2 days of onsite work a week at the Seattle UW campus during regular business hours. May work extended or non-standard hours based on project or business needs.
