Providence St. Joseph Health Senior Telemetry Technician in Seattle, Washington
Description The monitor tech II (MT) is responsible for continuously monitoring patients via telemetry of oxygen saturation (Sp02) levels and/or electrocardiogram (ECG) rhythm on patients from a remote workstation located in the TeleICU Clinical Operations Room (COR) or other nursing units. The Monitor Tech communicates all concerns to staff registered nurse (RN) or Charge Nurse. Utilizes TeleICU RN (tRN) as a resource. If the MT is unable to reach the bedside RN in a timely manner, the MT may escalate the concern by calling the charge nurse, Rapid Response Team or Code Blue per unit procedure. Additionally, the MT provides clerical support to the workflows of the TeleICU clinical staff (tMD and tRN), assists and participates with the orientation of new MT and nursing staff, and other duties as assigned. Required qualifications: Successful completion of Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia Interpretation class with a score of at least 80% on final exam. Individuals hired with previous monitor technician experience must pass a challenge exam with a score of at least 80%. Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association 1 year ECG monitoring experience with the ability to manage a minimum patient load of 35 patients on monitors 1 year Internal applicants within Swedish Medical Center only: One year of recent ECG monitoring experience with the ability to manage a patient load of less than 35 patients on monitors, successful completion of the Monitor Technician II Training Program, completion of the ECG consortium class and completion of the MT II competencies will also qualify for this position Preferred qualifications: Upon hire: Monitor Tech Certification Previous experience using electronic medical record Why Join Providence?
