Amazon Senior Technical Program Manager, Intelligent Decisions - AGI in Seattle, Washington

The Senior TPM will be responsible for the execution of critical programs within the Intelligent Decisions (ID) team. ID is a team within AGI (Amazon General Intelligence) team responsible for customizing Foundational LLM models to meet specific business use cases. This includes a offline modeling component (incl. SFT and ICL capabilities) and the runtime architecture to orchestrate across APIs and parametric responses. Alexa is a critical customer of ID's services and in 2024 our main goal is to deliver the next evolution of Alexa with LLMs. The Senior TPM will lead a program to built ML-based self-learning systems that automatically learns customers' affinities and habits by observing customer interactions with Alexa. They will need to define milestones, identify dependencies and gather commitments across teams to help deliver the solution and support multiple S-team goals for Cross-Amazon Integration and Consumption of Personalization data.

Key job responsibilities

  • Define and deliver critical program across multiple teams within ID, AGI, Alexa and other non-Alexa customer teams. Setting milestones that help achieve the program target dates.

  • Standup mechanisms to track and communicate progress towards delivery dates.

  • Effectively communicate with all levels of leadership, they should be able to represent complex decisions, trade-offs and solutions in various forums.

  • Identify and resolve roadblocks and conflicts that originate during program execution. Partner with PMs, Science and Engineering teams to resolve issues.

  • Build relationships and manage by influence in a matrix organization to solve complex AI problems with tight timelines

  • Define and execute Program Management best practices across the different ID science and engineering teams to help raise the bar on the execution of our team.

  • Manage a queue of customer facing issues and feature requests to improve the new functionalities of Alexa.

A day in the life

Drive alignment on execution plans that span multiple internal and external teams. Prepare and present schedule, risks and roadmap status. Drive clarity on ongoing roadblocks and misalignments and collaborate with the cross functional teams on mitigations.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent

  • 6+ years of technical product or program management experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $119,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
