Amazon Senior Technical Curriculum Developer, Amazon Software Builder Experience (ASBX) in Seattle, Washington

Description

Join the Amazon Software Builder Experience Learning (ASBX Learning) team to create engaging and effective learning experiences that power all software builders at Amazon. This is a highly collaborative role and you will partner with a variety of subject matter experts to create learning experiences to shepherd builders through their journey at Amazon, from onboarding to push the boundaries innovation.

Key job responsibilities

  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment to create online learning experiences on Amazons rapidly changing technologies.

  • Collaborate with ABSX Learning Product Managers to design the right learning experiences, including conducting learning needs assessments, building learning personas, and learning goals.

  • Partner with subject matter experts to translate learning needs into engaging and effective learning content.

  • Obsess over the learner experience, leading with empathy and designing with purpose to ensure builders reach their learning goals.

  • Effectively evaluate and maintain content to continuously improve learning experiences based on feedback from builders.

  • Use your years of experience with software development and technical training development to develop the right learning experiences and solutions for our customers.

A day in the life

  • Develop learning experiences of various modalities, using your expertise in instructional design.

  • Partner with and communicate effectively, so that stakeholders, teammates, and leadership understand timelines and milestones

  • Develop course design strategies with curriculum development team to ensure adoption of best practices and achievement of effective results.

  • Push the boundaries of traditional learning methods and meet our builders where they are, by experimenting with new and emerging modalities.

  • Work with technical employees of all levels who will act as subject matter experts (SMEs) to design, develop, and maintain technical learning content.

The Amazon Software Builder Experience (ASBX) organization has a mission of creating the world’s best builder experience across tens of thousands of software engineers, and all Amazon businesses (e.g., AWS, Amazon Stores, etc.). ASBX’s learning team creates and delivers technical learning for Amazon’s engineering/software builder community. We provide Amazon engineers and leaders the information they need to build products and services that delight customers. Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of proven experience developing learning experiences for technical audiences, engineers, or related technical roles.

  • 7+ years of proven experience in communicating status and gaining agreement with global stakeholders.

  • 10 years of writing learning resources for a technical audience focused on need to know topics.

  • 7+ years using data to measure learning effectiveness.

  • 7+ years using data and learner input to improve learning experiences.

  • 5+ year of proficiency in authoring using Articulate 360, RISE, or other learning platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in using tools like Vyond, Camtasia or the Adobe creative suite.

  • Experience planning and managing multiple parallel projects.

  • Experience in write scripts for talking head or animated video content.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $124,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $215,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
