Amazon Senior Portfolio Analyst, CorpDev Finance, Minority Investment and Warrant Portfolio Management in Seattle, Washington

Description

The Sr. Portfolio Financial Analyst will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and transforming complex business data to support strategic decision-making for Amazon’s minority investment and warrant portfolio. This role requires expert-level proficiency in Excel and an understanding of equity securities. As part of the role, the person in this position will help develop the investment and warrant reporting reviews that reach senior leadership across multiple teams. The reporting contains investment performance statistics, KPI's, and high-level themes that affect Amazon's portfolio. The ideal candidate will have strong business acumen, technical skills, and analytical capabilities to translate data into actionable insights while working with ambiguity. Additionally, this candidate would likely challenge inefficient or long-standing procedures, and constantly look for opportunities to implement continuous improvements through simplification and innovation.

Key job responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop efficient data models, reports, and dashboards using advanced Excel features.

  • Conduct industry and competitor analysis.

  • Validate data quality, identify trends and anomalies, and provide data-driven recommendations.

  • Generate actionable insights from financial data.

  • Continuously enhance data tools and processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and user experience

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes

  • Experience applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses

  • Experience participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
