We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Software Development Manager to lead Blue Origin's Business Operating Systems Technology team. This leader will manage a team of skilled software developers and drive them to execute an ambitious roadmap. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in software development, outstanding leadership skills, and a passion for innovation in aerospace. The position is a part of the Enterprise Technology (ET) organization, where we develop the digital infrastructure required to build the road to space and advance Blue Origin's mission. Enterprise Technology serves as the center of excellence for digital technology at Blue Origin, providing oversight and governance to align technology with business strategies. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required! Key responsibilities include: Leading, mentoring, and growing a team of software engineers, while fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation. Regularly presenting strategic initiatives to Sr. Directors and other executives. Collaborating extensively with Senior and Principal engineers to identify optimal technical architectures. Driving their team's operational excellence and delivering industry-leading, high-quality technical solutions. Overseeing the design, implementation and launch of enterprise resource planning software. Owning critical workstreams on complex projects. Optimizing software development processes to enhance productivity and quality. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a managerial role. Proven track record of successfully leading software development projects from inception to delivery. Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and development methodologies. Experience in distributed backend systems and cloud-based environments, such as AWS. Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for solving complex technical challenges. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. A passion for space exploration and a commitment to Blue Origin's mission. Willingness to travel up to 15% of the time.
