Description Performs highly skilled work of considerable difficulty involving various medical equipment and systems. Considered being an expert in the operation of specialized test equipment, schematic reading, and technical manuals. Will assemble, disassemble and fabricate, as needed moderately complex electronic and Electro-mechanical devices. Has the ability to choose the most cost and time effective equipment repair method, either component or circuit board level repair. With specific training specializes on certain types of equipment. Performs preventive maintenance, repairs, and safety testing of medical equipment. Works independently and requires very little direct supervision. Documents all work in accordance with departmental policies. Will be working in a variety of clinical environments often with frequent interruptions. Required Qualifications: Associate's Degree: Electronic Technology from an accredited program or Coursework/Training: Military training may be considered as an alternative. Coursework/Training: Must have completed several specialized training courses on servicing certain medical devices or systems. Upon request: Driving may be necessary as part of this role and caregivers will be expected to comply with all state laws. You may be asked to provide proof of driver license and auto insurance. See policy for additional information Ten or more years: Experience repairing, servicing and fabricating variety of medical electronic devices. A fabrication includes the ability to plan, design and implement medical electronic devices as well as enhancements or modifications to existing medical equipment.
