Blue Origin LLC Security Officer in Seattle, Washington

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, and Security. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, technicians, and engineers (use as appropriate), you will guard and supervise company grounds to prevent theft, violence, or other loss of company property. Tours premises, monitors grounds via surveillance equipment and via guard stations. Greets and directs visitors, provides temporary visitor IDs, and maintains a visitor's log. Responds to security breaches and prepares and files reports describing incidents, accidents, or intruders. This role does not involve carrying a firearm while on duty. Shift information: Night Shift 12 hour, 2 week rotation shifts: Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat 6pm - 6am / Sun, Wed, Thurs 6pm- 6am Every other weekend off 84 hour 2 week pay periods Responsibilities Perform responsibilities as identified by Security Management and Security Officer Lead in the conduct of guard posts, i.e., control access to the site via Visitor Management System, respond to inquiries and issues at guard posts, understand and execute all post orders assigned to guard position. Support special events, emergent activities and ad hoc assignments as identified and assigned by Security Management. Understand and align with Blue Origin badging policies to properly categorize and appropriately issue visitor badges as required. Respond to emergency situations (fire/medical/suspicious person/etc.) Implement roving patrols as assigned. Must be willing and able to work flexible schedule, to include nights, overtime, weekends and rotating. Minimum Qualifications Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Possess a valid driver's license. Ability and willingness to occasionally stand in a static position for extended periods. Display outstanding customer service and communication skills. Work in various environments such as cold weather, rain/snow or heat Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift. Stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of time. Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Preferred Qualifications Associate degree 2+ years' experience in military, law enforcement, overseas security contracting, or corporate security Aptitude for critical incident handling CPR/First Aid certification Computer based proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Extensive team-oriented experience Outstanding character/integrity Ability to de-escalate disputes and/or conflict(s) Excellent time management skills Compensation Range for: WA applicants is $18.60-$26.04 Other site ranges may differ Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed.
