DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Research Technologist 1 (NE S SEIU 925 RT) at the de la Iglesia Lab will have the following responsibilities:

Field human subject work (20%)

• Recruitment and consent of human subjects.

• Deployment of wrist activity monitors.Human sleep lab work (30%)

• Coordination of scheduling and research protocols with postdocs and graduate students.

• Assistance with data gathering: polysomnography, blood samples, core body temperature.

• Assistance with wet lab techniques for hormonal assays.Animal lab work (20%)

• Assistance with husbandry and behavioral monitoring.

• Assistance with data acquisition.Animal lab work analysis (30%)

• Analysis of behavioral data.

• Analysis of fluorescent and electron microscopy images. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Two years experience as a Laboratory Technician II, or equivalent; OR a Bachelors Degree in science.

• The announcement of position vacancy (recruiting bulletin) may specify course work or experience within a specific discipline if determined necessary by the personnel officer. Training or experience within a specific discipline will be required to meet the unique requirements of individual positions.

• Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• General knowledge of sleep and circadian rhythms.

• General et-lab research experience.

• Basic quantitative and statistical skills.
