This individual will work closely with the receiving department to identify and communicate any quality issues with incoming product and take the appropriate action. In addition you will work closely with the purchasing and sales department to resolve quality issues and improve procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for the quality control process beginning with receipt of product, maintaining inventory turns and dates, and product on hand for nightly shipping. Examine products for defects in line with the company's quality standards and food safety program. Verify that the specifications of product meet company and customer standards. Reviews reports pertaining to inventory accuracy and days on hand. Identify opportunities for the out-of-spec product and work to improve the product's quality. Will be asked to be involved in all warehouse activities as needed: receiving, picking etc. Operate warehouse equipment: forklift, pallet jack, produce knife, etc. Responsible for Quality and Food Safety. Participate in month end inventory on the last Saturday of every month. Cycle counting and inventory accuracy. Slotting product to correct area in warehouse. Qualifications Required Experience: Previous experience working with produce for at least 1 year Ability to lift up to 50lbs consistently Ability to work in a refrigerated environment, 35-45 degrees Intermediate Computer Skills: Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel and AS 400 Ability to work with in a team and independently in a fast paced environment Supplemental Information This employer participates in E-Verify and will provide the Social Security Administration and if necessary, the Department of Homeland Security with information from each new employee's Form I-9 to confirm work authorization.
