Transportation Services Parking Operations issue parking permits, collect parking fees, perform parking enforcement duties, provide consistent information about parking system processes and procedures, and perform other parking-related field duties.

We have an outstanding opportunity for a Program Coordinator, Parking Operations.

Under the general direction of the Parking Operations Manager and Assistant Manager, this position is responsible for standardizing all technical and customer services for the University of Washington parking software and other technological tools related to TS gatehouse and enforcement. This position resolves technical and sales challenges and related procedural improvements with the UW Facilities Business Innovation & Technology (BIT) teams and communicates solutions to the Parking Operations management and frontline staff.

Under general direction, this position exercises independent judgment in interpreting and applying the T2 program features in conjunction with University of Washington parking and citation issuance rules and regulations. Responsibilities also include selecting alternative courses of action, coordinating, scheduling and monitoring program activities to determine consistency with program goals, and compiling and ensuring data accuracy and relevancy in preparation for software transition(s).

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide students, staff, program participants and/or the public with information and interpretation of policies and activities related to the Parking Operations program of Transportation Services at the University of Washington • Responsible for maintaining cross-functional relationships with workgroups within Transportation Services and with the campus community • Serve as a primary contact for customers and campus guests and visitors; provide information regarding program policies and activities; confer with other campus departments and outside agencies; serve as resource person for campus committees concerned with program operations • Interact as an informational resource for departments, campus guests and visitors, event attendees; implement parking arrangement initiated by Transportation Services • Perform complex staff and student scheduling, miscellaneous duties, including project support and coordination duties prioritizing needs of the program • Create, compile and distribute information relative to program activities; coordinate and complete mailings as needed • Assist with the creation and maintenance of a Standard Operational Procedure Manual • Compose and/or review parking information distributed to campus guests and visitors; advise on changes to printed and electronic materials provided to guests and visitors • Compose written communications, correspondence, printed and electronic materials, and establish and maintain records relating to program operations; establish and maintain records and files, record statistical information; prepare narrative and/or statistical reports regarding program operations • Coordinate the use of internal and external web tools, including functionality, recommending changes or additions to the supervisor or manager • Assist with program training preparation and occasionally work in the field • Coordinate and schedule meetings/appointments for the Parking Operations Office • May perform complex word processing tasks such as merging and sorting, integrating text with graphics, spreadsheets and data base files, uploading and downloading and creating footnotes and outlines • Use scheduling, spreadsheet, word processing, calendar and graphics software, to develop and maintain records • May order, receive and maintain inventory • Assist with staffing recruitment activities as needed • Support Parking Operations Supervisory staff, as needed • Utilize Lean principles to develop and implement rapid process improvements to reach program goals for sales and parking optimization • May perform duties as Parking Operations Lean facilitator • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements include:

• High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience providing business operations support to include identifying, developing, recommending, executing, and ensuring compliance with processes and procedures OR equivalent education/experience

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.

• Experience working in a fast-paced office environment • Ability to be creative within program guidelines • Prior experience working with persons with disabilities and/or customers/clients with mobility needs • Proficiency in working with T2 Parking System and equipment • Proven skillful implementation of procedures, regulations and policies • Prior experience working in the field of parking program planning • Demonstrated customer service experience and exceptional customer service skills • Works well and cooperatively with all supervisors, peers and customers • Demonstrated experience using tact and diplomacy when interacting with personnel at all levels within an organization • Outstanding organizational skills • Exceptional data entry skills • Have knowledge and understanding of safe work practices and policies

Conditions of Employment:

• Must be able to lift / move 30 pounds • Must be able to work in all weather conditions • Adheres to work-place safety practices • Ability to travel and attend meetings efficiently whether off-site or elsewhere on campus • Must be able to work in a non-smoking environment. • Regular and predictable attendance is required. • Must be able to wear all proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required
