The Role Moderna is expanding our footprint to Seattle to further our mission of delivering the greatest possible impact to people through mRNA medicines! Our new technology hub in Seattle will focus on software product development for our Commercial, Data & Machine Learning, Cloud Infrastructure, Security, and Engineering Excellence (dev tools) products and platforms. Moderna's Cloud and Digital Infrastructure (CDI) is an organization at the core of transforming Moderna's enterprise use of the Cloud and on-premises compute. Through Moderna Mindsets, and a passion to change the future of medicine, CDI focuses on removing viscosity and enabling secure and scalable foundations for Moderna's broad range of internal customers. We are looking to hire an experienced Site Reliability Engineer who brings robust technical expertise and a background in supporting digital infrastructure, both on-premises and in the cloud, with a development and operational focus (DevOps). This individual believes in automation but also is willing to accelerate hands on to ensure customers are getting what they need. A proven partner that can effectively communicate and collaborate with peer engineers of all types as well as business stakeholders. You proactively look to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support legacy or new technology solutions to improve the infrastructure while having a keen eye on optimizing for stability and cost. A successful candidate will have an established track record with ample tenacity and experience in a fast paced, metrics-driven environment. They will be comfortable executing in a rapidly and ever-changing environment keeping quality and safety high without losing a sense of urgency. Experienced in staying composed with grace and resilience under pressure and the ability to collaborate with peers and also mentor junior engineers. Here's What You'll Do: * You'll lead team projects, actively mentor and develop team members, and contribute to team architecture. Your technology solutions will significantly enhance resilience, performance, and business value within the organization. * You'll impact team goals, technical strategies, dependencies, resilience, and performance. You'll be a key contributor to defining not only what we work on but why we should work on it. * You'll troubleshoot complex problems, decompose difficult challenges into manageable work. * Define and apply engineering, testing, and operational excellence standards to your team and the organization. * Support customers through the participation of regular on-call related duties as well as executing planned changes (change requests) to maintain the environment. * Partner cross organizations to drive improvements into the supportability and maintainability of the platform(s) and system(s), reducing viscosity for customers and engineers.
