As principal of product management – technical, you will be responsible for (1) generating direct revenue as our products improve enterprises’ customer or staff experiences, reduce operating costs, and generate incremental revenue; (2) managing a portfolio of enterprise SAAS subscriptions for verticals as well as building horizontal services (e.g. common management APIs, communication and personalization features) that enable Alexa to serve multiple customer segments; (3) designing strategies to deepen existing customers’ relationship with Alexa outside of the home; and (4) collaborating with direct customers and channel partners to provide them with APIs to include Alexa Smart Properties voice experiences in their own industry products.

Key job responsibilities

• Develop requirements, product specifications, go-to-market plans, and marketing campaigns for key product features

• Lead the product vision and go-to-market strategy for a new strategic business

• Create buy-in for your vision across the Alexa organization and with external partners

• Influence leaders across engineering, design, business development, solutions architecture, marketing, PR, legal, and finance to deliver exceptional results

• Establish key performance indicators, drive feature adoption, and measure the health of your product and business

• Create and influence product roadmaps across a large organization

A day in the life

As a Principal, Product Management-Technical, you will work directly with customers to define the product vision and business plan for a new, strategic Alexa business. You will get buy-in on your vision from customers, partners, and executives across the company. You will collaborate with design and engineering leaders to define product requirements, delightful user experiences, and a scalable architecture. You will collaborate with marketing, PR, and business development leaders to define how to take your products to market and drive broad adoption. You will partner with business development, solutions architecture, and finance leaders to build roadmap(s) that empower them to achieve our P&L goals. Partner with customers and channel partners to provide them with APIs to include ASP voice experiences in their own products.

Alexa Smart Properties’ (ASP) charter is to build and enable indispensable, frustration-free, Alexa experiences for properties worldwide – starting with hotels, healthcare facilities, and senior living communities. Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • Experience with end to end product delivery

  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product

  • Experience technical product management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement

  • Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements

  • Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements

  • Experience in business to business product development or enterprise software

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $144,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
