UW Medical Center-Montlake – Rehabilitation Therapy Clinic has an outstanding opportunity for a PHYSICAL THERAPIST - OUTPATIENT. WORK SCHEDULE - Per Diem - Day Shift

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION Neurologic hospital-based outpatient clinic? Specialties: Vestibular rehabilitation, Assistive Technology Professional, Wheelchair Seating and Mobility Specialist, Neurologic Clinical Specialist, Geriatric Clinical Specialist? Multidisciplinary team that includes physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, rehab counseling, physicians, and rehab psychology Patient populations treated: stroke, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, muscular dystrophy, peripheral neuropathies, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, cerebral palsy, Ehler’s Danlos syndrome, autonomic disorders, traumatic brain injury, vestibular disorders, neuro-oncology, myopathies, spinal muscular atrophy, wheelchair seating clinic, functional neurologic disorder, etc.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for evaluation, planning, directing and administering physical therapy evaluation and intervention to patients referred by a licensed provider.

  • Administers treatments and physical agents as determined by the evaluation in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability.

  • Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities.

  • Documents appropriately and accurately with regard to content and timeliness (following the policies of the Physical Therapy department and UW Medical Center).

  • Supervises responsibilities assigned to supportive staff (PTA, Medical Assistant, PT Aide, etc.).

  • Participates in operational aspects of the department, maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in Quality Improvement activities. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized school of physical therapy, or completion of a Physical Therapy program and one year relevant experience.OR

  • Equivalent education/experience.- Current Washington State license to practice as a Physical Therapist. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS - Experience treating patients with neurologic dysfunction.- Ideal candidates will be a neurologic clinical specialist or have experience in neurologic PT.- Possess physical ability to move patients and equipment.
