Opportunity to provide career growth DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION The Neurology Clinic at UW Medical Center - Montlake cares for patients referred for conditions of the central and peripheral nervous systems, including neuromuscular diseases.We offer comprehensive consultation, evaluation and treatment services for adults with neurological disorders. We treat a variety of neurological conditions, including muscle weakness, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, neuropathy, movement disorders and dizziness.Our clinic is staffed by board-certified and board-eligible neurologists, who offer neurodiagnostic services including EEGs, EMGs, evoked potentials and autonomic nervous system testing. RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrates excellent customer service skills
Responds to patients’ needs and concerns as appropriate
Accepts patient payments (e.g., co-pays, deposits)
Coordinates and assists in scheduling ancillary appointments and consults
Using clinic guidelines, gathers information on the telephone regarding the nature of the patient concern. Triages calls to appropriate staff; obtains necessary information for the return call; initiates emergency procedure, when necessary, uses appropriate documentation tools
Orders, coordinates, and distributes medical records as needed
Obtains necessary insurance plan information
Maintains ongoing documentation and tracks authorized referrals
Reviews the Epic Referral Queue daily for incoming orders and new patient referrals QUALIFICATIONS
High school graduation or equivalent AND
One year of healthcare, administrative, or customer service experience OR
