$10,000 Sign-On Bonus to eligible new employees joining UW Medicine Harborview Medical Center has an outstanding opportunity for a ARNP, Nurse Practitioner; or PA-C, Physician Assistant to join our Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinic.

  • Opportunity to provide career growth DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION: The Outpatient Behavioral Health program at Harborview Medical Center serves adults with mental health and substance use needs. The program also provides integrated primary care services to patients with unmet needs. Services range from brief to long-term, full wrap around supports. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Function as a prescribing nurse or as a prescribing nurse and care coordinator

  • Assessment and evaluation of psychiatric/medical needs, and for medication management as outlined within the scope of Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license.

  • Case management, developing and implementing client Treatment Plans, Crisis Plans and appropriately timed reviews and completion of all required clinical documents

  • Support training of students in the health care professions, including psychiatric residents assigned to programs and clinics within Harborview Mental Health Services

  • Provide care to acute and severe and persistently mentally ill clients requiring psychotropic medication, including adults, older-adults, and Addictions Program clients in need of psychiatric medications

  • Perform Mental Status examinations and make clinical decisions for care.

  • Prescribe and dispense medication within scope of license

  • Coordinate physical care needs of clients receiving psychiatric services

  • Provide case management and advocacy services as needed MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s Degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursingAND Washington State Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner License with prescriptive privilegesAND National certification as a Nurse PractitionerAND BLS certificationORPhysician Assistant:Licensure as a Physician’s Assistant in the State of Washington with national certification from a national certifying body (NCCPA).Applicant must be eligible to receive hospital staff appointments for adjunct staff membership by the Organized Medial Staff of the hospital under Medical Staff By-Laws for hospital-based positions.AND BLS certification
