Harborview Medical Center has an outstanding opportunity for a Program Director in the Transgender and Non-Binary Gender Health Program. WORK SCHEDULE:

  • Days DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION: UW Medicine’s (UWM) Transgender and Gender Non-Binary Health Program's primary goal is to reduce the health disparities experienced by the transgender and gender non-binary (TGNB) community by providing inclusive and patient-centered gender affirming healthcare access that is integrated throughout primary, surgical, specialty, and mental health services. The TGNB Health Program strives to ensure equity, diversity, and inclusion principles inform all system-wide quality improvement processes and practices, and incorporates TGNB community voices and health equity measures into program development.   • Opportunity to provide career growth PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide operational oversight, strategic planning and leadership of UW Medicine’s Transgender and Gender Non-Binary Health Program (TGNB)

  • Execute the enterprise vision for TGNB Health Program that supports needs of gender and sexually diverse populations, including identifying and collaborating with executive, administrative, and clinical department and facility leaders involved in current and expanding gender affirming care service lines, coordinating steering committees and ongoing work groups and committees across departments, facilities and service lines, and stewarding the conversation and recommendations

  • Design, implement and support of TGNB specific clinical trainings for gender affirming care provisions and optimal LGBTQAI2S+ patient interactions

  • Coordinate and collaborate with the TGNB Operations Director, TGNB clinical staff, administrative staff, and external partners to deliver high-quality and culturally responsive health care services to transgender and nonbinary patients

  • Serve as liaison to other departments and administration. Leads multiple committees and sub-groups. Serves as a member of primary care committees, task forces, working groups, as appropriate

  • Assist Ambulatory Care Executive with development, planning, and implementation of goals, objectives, new programs, new equipment or software, or improved processes

  • Hire, supervise, and maintain an effective team of employees REQUIREMENTS:

  • Masters degree in Public Health, Social Work, Nursing, or related field

  • At least 6 years of experience in healthcare administration or public health, managing health care programs or services, preferably in healthcare equity or direct service delivery for transgender and nonbinary health or LGBTQ+ health ABOUT HARBORVIEW MEDICAL CENTER As the region's only?Level?I Trauma and verified burn center, Harborview Medical Center is a comprehensive healthcare facility owned by King County and operated by UW Medicine.
