Home Health Physical Therapy Assistant – Posting #26768
Annual Salary: $70,000
Position Summary:
Part time Physical Therapy Assistant position available for our Home Health department in Seattle, WA. This position is based out of the Seattle Medical Clinic, but the PT Assistant primarily provides treatment in their client's homes throughout the King County region. The PT Assistant will follow the Physical Therapists Plan of Care for the care and treatment of the patients physical therapy needs; performing procedures under the supervision of a physical therapist.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with infection control policies and procedures.
Provides information to patients by answering questions and requests; allaying fears.
Educates patients by demonstrating proper use of equipment and exercise routines.
Helps treat patients by applying heat or cold packs; monitoring motion; tracking walking time and distance; measuring mobility; monitoring prescribed exercises and strengthening techniques.
Ability to monitor vital signs and communicate any changes in condition to staff physical therapist or other personnel as appropriate. Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential, adhering to all HIPAA rules and regulations.
Ensure that all supplies and equipment used in the patient’s home has been cleaned and sterilized before and after use.
Ensures operation of physical therapy equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instruction; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
Adheres to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and JCAHO standards.
Participates in educational opportunities; reads professional publications and articles; maintains networks; participating in professional organizations.
Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma.
Must have current CPR Certification and maintain it throughout employment.
Maintain continuing competency requirements (Physical Therapist Assistants must complete 24 hours of continuing education and 200 hours of employment every 2 years.)
Complete required forms and documentation in accordance with company policy and state/federal regulations.
Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred, but not required.
