Job Title: Finishing Technician

Job Description

The Finishing Technician will be responsible for sanding, polishing, inspecting, and maintaining parts to ensure a flawless and high-quality finish. This role involves meticulous attention to detail and collaboration with team members to meet the highest standards of finishing work.

Responsibilities

  • Sanding and finishing parts using various techniques and tools to ensure a flawless surface.

  • Polishing parts to achieve a high-quality finish, enhancing their appearance and durability.

  • Thoroughly inspecting parts for defects and rectifying any issues identified.

  • Maintaining and caring for all tools and equipment used in the finishing process.

  • Keeping accurate records of work performed, including any discrepancies or issues encountered.

  • Collaborating closely with other team members to ensure all finishing tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in using various power tools, hand tools, and finishing equipment.

  • Strong attention to detail to identify and address imperfections.

  • Previous experience in sanding and finishing is highly desirable.

  • Problem-solving skills to efficiently address and correct issues.

  • Good communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and supervisors.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks and stand for extended periods.

  • Experience in cabinetry, autobody work, adhesive application, model making, or 3D printing is a plus.

  • Technical proficiency in using finishing tools and equipment.

Work Environment

The Finishing Technician will spend 80-90% of the day sitting at a desk, working mostly independently. The workspace is equipped with a toolbox, sanding tools, a flex shaft, and a light pen for light welding and patching. One earbud is permitted for personal use. The role involves maintaining a clean and organized workstation and adhering to safety protocols.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Seattle, Washington.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
