Amazon Finance Manager, AWS Server Finance in Seattle, Washington

The AWS Supply Chain Finance team is looking for a passionate, insightful, and results-oriented Finance Manager to join our team. This role will present an opportunity to improve financial controllership processes for the Procurement, Finance, and Engineering teams.

Key job responsibilities

This individual will be responsible for working with multiple vendors and stakeholders to gather business critical data. In addition, the person will work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to create analytical models to enable cost tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis, and optimization to improve controllership. This person will also work with technical teams to define the business process and requirements for long-term scalable solutions.

This role requires an individual with excellent analytical and data modelling abilities as well as outstanding business acumen and comfort with technical teams, data, and systems. The successful candidate will be a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, with strong attention to detail, and will enjoy working with large scale data.

  • 6+ years of experience in business or financial analysis and reporting, or quantitative role

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, Supply Chain or equivalent combination of experience and instruction

  • Proficiency in writing SQL queries and creating Business Intelligence reports.

  • High level of proficiency in Excel (PowerPivot, PowerQuery)

  • Strong controllership focus

  • Ability to manage projects with multiple teams

  • Experience in Finance, Operations, Procurement, or Supply Chain

  • Knowledge of Tableau Desktop and Alteryx Designer

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience

  • 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL

  • Experience building and managing financial models for business forecasting and problem solving

  • Experience in solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits)

  • Experience performing ad hoc analysis using advanced Excel

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
