Facilities Technician (Painter)

Seattle, WA

$24- $32

Thursday- Sunday 7 am- 5:30 pm

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Facilities Technician who has experience doing apartment turn overs, interior large scale painting in occupied space, paint prep, move furniture between sites, and miscellaneous facility repair/ maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Paint prep, taping, plastic coverings, carpet and light covering.

  • Interior painting in occupied spaces using brushes/ rollers.

  • Enter and complete work orders on phone or laptop.

  • Physically move furniture between sites.

  • Perform maintenance tasks like simple carpentry, hanging objects, furniture assembly, and door hardware repairs.

  • Coordinate with vendors and temporary workers as needed.

  • Use personal truck or van for transportation (mileage reimbursement provided).

  • Work on a rotating on-call basis for after-hours emergency work.

  • Ensure site security systems are always operational.

Essential Skills

  • 4+ years of experience in facilities maintenance (commercial/ multi-unit residential).

  • 1+ year of experience in light electrical, light plumbing, light carpentry, and painting.

  • Proficiency with hand and power tools.

  • Ability to read and follow instructions accurately.

  • Effective real-time communication skills.

  • Self-sufficient and fast learner.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of HVAC, building maintenance, plumbing, and drywall.

  • Own a van or truck with an enclosed bed (preferably a canopy) for moving items securely.

  • Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks.

Work Environment

The role involves traveling between various sites, including locations from Northgate to Rainier Beach, with occasional trips to Vashon Island. Facilities are maintained to medical standards, ensuring a clean and sanitary environment. You will not be working at a singular location but will be moving from site to site based on work order needs.
